Quartz Ramming Mass is a high-purity silica based refractory material used for lining induction furnaces in steel and iron melting operations. Made from carefully graded quartz grains, it forms a dense and durable monolithic lining when rammed inside the furnace coil.

Key Features & Applications

  • Steel ingot casting
  • Alloy and special steel production
  • Heavy-section casting
  • Foundry riser systems

Product Overview

Tundseal is a high-performance, heat-resistant sealing compound used in tundish management during continuous steel casting. It is an air-setting refractory paste applied at the joints, corners, and gaps between tundish boards and refractory bricks to prevent molten steel leakage.

Inside a tundish, temperatures can reach 1550°C–1600°C. Under such extreme conditions, refractory materials naturally expand, which can create micro-gaps at board joints. Without proper sealing, molten steel can penetrate these gaps, solidify, and damage the lining. This not only reduces tundish life but also increases operational risk.

Tundseal forms a strong thermal-resistant sealing barrier that remains stable under high heat and thermal stress. Its ready-to-use paste formulation allows quick, clean, and precise application, reducing installation time. The high silica content ensures excellent bonding strength and resistance to metal penetration.

By preventing joint erosion and leakage, Tundseal protects the insulating layer, enhances lining integrity, and extends tundish campaign life. It is an essential consumable for safe and efficient tundish operations in steel plants.
