T-type Tundish Board
Quartz Ramming Mass is a high-purity silica based refractory material used for lining induction furnaces in steel and iron melting operations. Made from carefully graded quartz grains, it forms a dense and durable monolithic lining when rammed inside the furnace coil.
Key Features & Applications
- Steel ingot casting
- Alloy and special steel production
- Heavy-section casting
- Foundry riser systems
Product Overview
T-Type Tundish Boards are silica-based consumable refractory boards used in multi-strand continuous casting tundish systems. They are installed along the side walls and bottom sections of the tundish to form a stable working lining that protects the permanent refractory structure from direct molten steel contact.
Unlike rectangular tundish boards used in simpler or single-stand setups, T-Type boards are specifically designed for two, three, or four strand casting systems. Their T-shaped structure allows better alignment, improved interlocking, and enhanced joint stability inside complex tundish configurations. This structural advantage reduces the risk of molten steel penetration through gaps and improves overall lining integrity during casting.
One of the key advantages of T-Type tundish boards is reduced preheating time. Unlike traditional brick or castable linings that require long drying cycles, these boards are manufactured under controlled moisture conditions, enabling faster heating and quicker tundish preparation. They also support easier de-skulling, as reduced metal penetration into joints allows faster removal of slag and solidified deposits after casting.
Our T-Type Tundish Boards are engineered with controlled transverse strength, density, permeability, hot strength, and moisture content to ensure safe installation and reliable high-temperature performance.
