Product Overview
Silicon Carbide Foam Filter is a high-performance ceramic foam filter designed for molten metal filtration in iron and non-ferrous casting operations. It effectively removes slag particles, non-metallic inclusions, and impurities before the metal enters the mould cavity, improving casting cleanliness and structural integrity.
The open-cell reticulated structure ensures uniform metal flow while reducing turbulence during pouring. By stabilizing the molten stream, the filter minimizes air aspiration and oxide formation, resulting in improved surface finish and reduced internal defects. Its high thermal shock resistance allows it to withstand sudden temperature changes during pouring without cracking.
Silicon Carbide Foam Filters provide excellent mechanical strength and resistance to erosion under high metal flow conditions. They enhance casting yield by reducing rejection rates and improving metallurgical consistency. The filter also supports better mold filling behaviour and promotes laminar metal flow in gating systems.
