Key Features & Applications

  • Foundry gating systems
  • Controlled molten metal transfer
  • Iron and steel casting operations
  • Mould systems requiring reduced turbulence and improved flow stability

Product Overview

Pouring Pipe is a refractory flow control component used in foundry casting to safely channel molten metal from the ladle into the mould cavity. Its circular design ensures uniform metal distribution and controlled flow rate, reducing turbulence and preventing air entry into the molten stream.

By maintaining steady flow and pressure, the Pouring Pipe minimizes splash, slag carryover, and oxide formation. This helps improve casting surface finish, reduce internal defects, and enhance overall metal quality. The round geometry supports smooth laminar flow, making it suitable for gating systems where precise metal transfer is essential.
The pipe also protects the mould structure from erosion caused by direct metal impact, extending mould life and improving casting consistency. It is widely used in iron and steel foundries where stable pouring performance and impurity control are critical.

Manufactured from silica based refractory material with minimum 70% of Silica content, the Pouring Pipe provides reliable thermal stability during high temperature operations. Its adequate transverse strength and controlled density ensure structural integrity and safe handling during pouring.
