- Mould top metal entry systems
- Controlled molten metal transfer from ladle to sprue
- Casting processes requiring reduced turbulence and improved metal cleanliness
Product Overview
Porous Plug is a high-performance refractory gas purging plug installed at the base of the ladle to inject inert gas into molten steel. Manufactured using an Alumina-Spinel matrix, it ensures controlled and uniform gas diffusion for effective stirring and homogenization of liquid steel.
The plug plays a critical metallurgical role by improving steel cleanliness, promoting thermal and chemical homogenization, and enhancing desulfurization efficiency. Uniform gas bubbling helps remove non-metallic inclusions, equalize temperature distribution, and maintain consistent alloy composition throughout the ladle.
With high cold crushing strength (900–1100 kg/cm²) and controlled porosity, our Porous Plug offers excellent resistance to slag penetration and ferro static pressure. The optimized permeability ensures stable gas flow without clogging, while maintaining structural integrity during high-temperature steel operations.
Designed for operational safety, the dense Alumina-Spinel structure minimizes the risk of metal infiltration and breakout. Our Porous Plug supports extended ladle life, improved steel quality, and stable bottom purging performance.
