MOFAX High Performance
Also known as Casting Powder, is used in continuous casting moulds to provide lubrication between the mould wall and solidifying steel shell. It forms a protective slag layer that prevents oxidation, absorbs inclusions, reduces friction, and improves surface quality. MOFAX helps increase mould life and stabilize casting operations.

Product Overview
MOFAX is a high performing Mold Flux (Casting Powder) designed for continuous casting operations. Supplied in powder form with controlled viscosity and melting characteristics, MOFAX forms a stable lubricating and insulating slag layer between the mould wall and solidifying steel shell. This lubrication reduces friction, minimizes mould wear, and significantly lowers the risk of sticker breakouts during casting process.
Our product with a controlled viscosity range of 1 to 3 poise and optimized basicity of 1.2, MOFAX ensures the uniform slag flow and consistent lubrication performance. Its softening point and melting point are carefully engineered to match standard casting temperatures, enabling controlled melting rate and stable mould level behaviour.
MOFAX creates a strong protective liquid slag layer that acts as an oxidation barrier, protecting molten steel from atmospheric exposure. This helps improve steel cleanliness, reduce surface defects, and enhance final metal surface quality. The flux also captures and dissolves the non-metallic inclusions, contributing to improved casting consistency and better slab quality.
