About the Role
Join Special Mineral Specialties Pvt. Ltd. as a Product Planning & Productivity Engineer and play a key role in strengthening plant operations and production efficiency.
This is a plant-based operational role where you will be responsible for production planning, product cost estimation, process monitoring, and implementation of productivity improvement initiatives. You will work closely with plant supervisors, production teams, procurement, and quality control departments to ensure optimal utilization of resources, efficient production scheduling, and continuous improvement in operational performance.
The role offers a strong learning environment within a manufacturing setup, providing exposure to industrial processes, operational planning, and real-time productivity enhancement practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement production plans based on order requirements, plant capacity, and raw material availability.
- Prepare product cost estimations including raw material consumption, processing costs, labor requirements, and overhead allocation.
- Monitor daily plant productivity and identify bottlenecks in the production process.
- Coordinate with procurement and inventory teams to ensure timely availability of raw materials and consumables.
- Analyze production data to evaluate plant efficiency, yield levels, and resource utilization.
- Support implementation of productivity improvement initiatives such as process optimization, waste reduction, and better workflow management.
- Work closely with plant supervisors to ensure adherence to planned production schedules.
- Assist in developing standard operating procedures (SOPs) for improved plant efficiency.
- Track key operational metrics such as production output, downtime, capacity utilization, and cost per unit.
- Prepare daily and weekly production reports and share insights with management for operational decision-making.
- Assist in planning production trials for new products or process improvements.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Good understanding of production planning and plant operations.
- Ability to analyze operational data and identify productivity improvement opportunities.
- Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes and industrial production systems.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with plant teams, supervisors, and technical departments.
- Strong attention to detail in cost estimation and production planning.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and basic data analysis.
- Understanding of productivity improvement techniques such as process optimization and workflow efficiency.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced plant environment and handle operational challenges.
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical / Industrial / Production / Metallurgical)
OR
- Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS) / BBA with specialization in Operations or Supply Chain
Experience
- Freshers or candidates with 0–2 years of experience in manufacturing operations, production planning, or plant operations.
- Internship or project exposure in production planning, cost estimation, or industrial productivity improvement will be an added advantage.
- Exposure to steel, minerals, refractory, or process manufacturing industries is preferred but not mandatory.
